As the need for affordable housing continues to increase, Powell Studio Architecture had the privilege of working with New Beginnings, BlueSky, and the Florida Housing Corporation to address the growing demand for affordable housing in Clermont, Florida. This partnership resulted in the design of a 96-unit affordable housing complex.
The complex, thoughtfully laid out across four garden-style residential apartment buildings and a central community clubhouse, sets a new standard for affordable housing. Powell Studio Architecture infused sophistication into the design, incorporating enhanced features and thoughtful unit layouts. The units, ranging from 1 to 3 bedrooms, cater to diverse housing needs, while the 3,500 SF clubhouse serves as a focal point for community engagement.
Woodwinds, the realized vision of this collaboration, stands as more than just a housing complex; it is a transformative force in the lives of its residents. With a commitment to dignity and affordability, the community-oriented design includes space for after-school activities, tutoring, case management, offices, and a pool within the clubhouse. Woodwinds not only provides housing but redefines the benchmark for workforce housing, symbolizing a positive shift in the community's standards for accessible and high-quality living.
